Comrades and Sisters,

VFW convention in Arizona produced by-law changes that will be discussed at a later date. While attending the convention, yours truly got to shake the hand of the President of the U.S. I consider it an honor. Whether you agree with him or not, this is something not everyone has the opportunity to do. (See photo) POW/MIA memorial Service was very successful, even though it is something that darkens our hearts. We will never forget as long as our POW/MIAs are still away from their homes and loved ones. A big thank you to Lou Gemmill, Vice Commander POW/MIA for always caring and the Ladies Auxiliary for their support and the good food they provide at these functions and to our wonderful Honor Guard. Special thanks to the Edison High School ROTC group for their special duties. I attended C of A in San Diego with Lou Gemmill in October. There, we heard the proposed new byelaws and the discussions that went with it. Don't forget the annual Halloween Party, Oct. 30th, costumes welcomed, great music will be provided by Bob and Grace Ortega. If you come don't forget to bring a dish to share, soak up all the good drinks. At the present time we are accepting donations for our annual Christmas Basket food drive. You can drop off your donations at the canteen. Check out the meal deals at the Canteen all day on Sunday and Monday night, along with watching some good football with your friends. Stay safe over the coming Holidays and I Hope to see everyone at the next meeting and upcoming Post events. (Check the Calendar in this issue of 52 News)

My sincere condolences to those who have lost a loved one and to those who are ill, a speedy recovery.

Yours in Comradeship

Jesse Sanchez
