Greetings Comrades, Sisters and Brothers: It’s been a very busy 7 weeks. We had our Annual Veteran’s Day Program, which was attended by 300 to 350 people. We also started our canned food drive for needy veterans and their families and participated in the Toys for Tots Program as well. On Nov. 17th we participated in welcoming two planeloads of troops returning from Iraq at the Stockton Airport. There were members of our Post, American Legion and various Veteran motorcycle clubs. The event was well attended and those who participated enjoyed a good time. Next up was District meeting, Nov. 20th at Turlock Post 5059. District membership is at 90.08%. Our Post membership is at 103.8%. Top District recruiter will receive two nights free lodging at State Convention and second place will receive one free night. Next we had our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Post. This event was also well attended. I would like to thank the Women’s Aux for their efforts in the preparation of all the meals they provide throughout the year. On Dec. 4th we held our Annual Christmas Party. This Party is always a big hit and this year was no exception. On Dec. 7th we had a observance of Pearl Harbor Day. This is new and it is my hope that it will become an annual event. Jan. 20-22, 2012, we will be having Dept. Council of Administration, VOD Banquet as well as Dept. President’s Homecoming in Sacramento. On Feb. 26th, we will have our District meeting at Post 3154 in Sonora starting with our annual Memorial Service at 9am with District meeting to follow at 10am. I would like to invite any comrade who wants to learn about what the District as well as other Posts in the District do, to attend. Last but not least, I would like to thank all Comrades, Brothers and sisters for all they do for the Post. Without their efforts, our Post wouldn’t be able to accomplish our goals. I wish you and yours the best for the New Year. Please be safe.
In Comradeship Dan Martinez Commander
