Sr. VICE COMMANDER REPORT

As we look back on the past year, just remember that we could not have done everything without the team work that everyone puts into this organization. Remember this and our post, we the rank and file along with the officers working together will make this post prosper. As your Sr. Vice I challenge all to get involved. It’s team work and being united that will keep us going.

Cecil Dennings. Sr. Vice Commander

Buddy Poppy

Poppies continue to come in at a moderately slow pace, everyone is busy with summer activities and so poppies are slow but a few have surfaced and we are still looking for penny pledges, so all have a cool summer. Poppy donations are welcome anytime of the year.

"Congratulations to Lou Gemmill for being appointed POW/MIA Chairman for the State of California. He was appointed by Denis Wells our new Department Commander."

Jean Gemmill Auxiliary

Sr. Vice President

Fellow comrades, Ladies and Men’s Auxiliaries of Luneta Post 52.

For those don’t know, I have given up my previous position at POW/MIA to another veteran and I am sure he will continue the work needed in his new position as I have faith in him. The reason for my stepping down from this position is because I have been appointed POW/MIA Chairman for the State of California Veterans of Foreign Wars. I want to thank each and every one of you, full heartedly, for the support you have given me and the POW/MIA program over the past 10 years.

In Comradship

Lou Gemmill

State Chairman POW/MIA

If you took picnic tickets to sell, please return them with the money collected and any unsold tickets before July 24, 2010 NO EXCEPTIONS. We have to know how many will be attending so we can order supplies.

A Special Thank You

I would like to extend a very warm thank you to all who honored my husband, Ken Stearns, by attending his Celebration of Life Memorial held at the Post on April 30th. Kenny was very proud to be a life member of the VFW and he loved Post 52. It was a lovely ceremony and the Color/ Honor Guard did an outstanding job. It all came together because of all the help from family and friends at this Post. I would also like to offer a very special Thank You to all who donated monetary gifts in Ken’s name to Post 52. Also, to all of you who stood by me in my time of grief and sadness, I love you all. VFW Luneta Post 52 is a very special Post where members do care about each other and I am very proud and honored to be an Aux. Life Member here.

Mexican Cruise

For your information;

We will be looking into a 4 day, Post 52 Baja Cruise in the near future. Possibly in Oct. This trip will be a joint venture between the Post, Ladies and Men’s Auxiliaries. At a group rate, the cost should be reasonable and any profit we make will come back to the Post and it’s Auxiliaries. As soon as we gather all the info on price, date etc. It will be presented for your vote. If any of you are interested or have suggestions, please let me know. The more interest shown, the more likely this will take place.
